When fashion and frillies collide: Ann Summers unveils 'unapologetically sexy' Giles Deacon lingerie collection

Ann Summers has been given another high fashion makeover by the acclaimed British designer Giles Deacon, who counts Cara Delevingne as a fan. The collaboration is the designer's second offering for Ann Summers and the underwear giant describes the new range as 'unapologetically sexy and bold with a dash of naughtiness.'

Giles Deacon, who worked for Bottega Veneta and Gucci before founding his own label, GILES, in 2003, once said that he 'didn’t design for wallflowers' and this mantra is certainly in evidence in this collection.

He's back! Giles Deacon, an esteemed designer who uses the likes of Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner to showcase his fashion week designs, has unveiled his second collection for Ann Summers
The Giles Deacon for Ann Summers collection is made up of lingerie and and fashion-forward 'sexcessories', including rose gold necklace and cuffs, lace eye masks and feather ticklers.

Underwear, which costs between £30-£150, comes with detachable black feathers and plunging cups, which Giles says will release your inner diva.

One for the Christmas wishlist? The collaboration is the designer's second offering for Ann Summers and the underwear giant describes the new range as 'unapologetically sexy and bold with a dash of naughtiness'
The burlesque-inspired range is packed with detail from erotic peep elements and satin bound boning to wisps of eyelash lace.

Speaking about working with the lingerie giant, Giles said: 'Ann Summers is an iconic brand recognised and loved by so many and which occupies a unique and successful position on the British high street.

'I knew at the start when designing the collection that I wanted it to combine great shapes, thoughtful details and to be of the highest quality that would enable the pieces to be aspirational yet affordable.

Amping up the glamour: New for this season is the Georgette range, which Giles says embodies burlesque naughtiness, updated with a designer touch for the 21st century siren

'I also thought about different women who might be buying these pieces when designing the collection, with different aspects to their personalities whether that’s flirtation, dominance or playfulness - the finished collection enables them to pick and choose and have some fun with all of the ranges as a collection of lingerie that can be the foundation for any outfit or occasion.'

A spokesperson for Ann Summers, said: 'Giles’ collections are sexy yet always have a sense of fun, values that are in line with the Ann Summers brand - as a designer he is not afraid to be daring or to take risks, which is important.'

FALL FASHION 2014

From the food aisles to a galaxy far, far away, Fall 2014’s fashion narrative is just as varied as the many women who’ll likely fall for its manifold charms.

Call it the Lorde effect (or blame it fashion’s ever-growing obsession with Game of Thrones), but designers across all four major fashion cities seemed to fall under the dark spell of moody heroines. At Dolce & Gabbana, dresses were made to scrape that forest floor. At Valentino, capes shrouded the wicked and at Rodarte andPreen, Star Wars prints were made for the modern day Princess Leia.

And while normcore may have mounted last season’s defence to street style’s increasing zaniness, Fall fashion 2014 is rife with ways to make statements. Flashbulbs will no doubt capture this season’s array of larger than life outerwear, from the utilitarian parkas on Alexander Wang’s robotic runway to Burberry’s painterly blanket coats. Meanwhile, fur was back with a brightly hued vengeance, ombréd at both Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs, and in Crayola checks at Altuzarra. At Lanvin and Marni, fur was layered in wrap form over everything from short suits to sweatshirts.

This season’s accessories are especially light-hearted, with everything from a McDonalds Happy Meal to a carton of milk inspiring fall fashion 2014’s bags at Moschino and Chanel respectively. There were fur muffs at Tory Burch, crystal-incrusted snoods at Alexander McQueen and knee-highs á la Vivian Ward at Versace and sneakers once again staking their claim at Chanel.

If there ever were a time to pick your poison, it would be now.
