How Adriana Lima Gets Victoria's Secret Fashion Show-Ready


With the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 18 days away, it’s “crunch time.” If you’ve seen the #trainlikeanangel hashtag popping up on Instagram alongside Angels doing some very, very intense workouts, you probably already know that we’re down to the wire. Like with one of our favorite Angels, Adriana Lima: When we caught up with her last week at her fitting for the $2 million Fantasy Bra, we could tell she’s been busy getting into fighting shape (or…even better shape than she’s already, usually in?). And while she told us “I love to work out; it’s a passion of mine, and even if I did not have this job I would be working out,” we have to wonder if the fact that she does one of the most fun and easiest-to-do-anywhere workouts sparks some of that enthusiasm. Below, how she’s prepping to sport lingerie in front of 9 million viewers on Tuesday, December 9:

How do you get in the mindset to train like an Angel?

I love to watch [boxing] on TV; it’s something that fits my personality. I think that’s the secret about working out, to find something that fits your personality. I’m very energetic. I can’t stay still. I’m all over the place, and I need to move around. So that’s something perfect [about boxing]: You’re always moving, you’re constantly moving no matter what.

Did you play sports growing up?

Yes, I was an athletic child, yes. I did play sports, everything like futbol—I mean soccer—basketball, handball, running, everything. I did everything, but my passion is boxing.

Have you ever gone head to head with anybody in the ring?

I actually train in the ring, yeah. Usually I do mitts—you know, those big cushioning things, the pads that you just hit on?—that’s what I do. But I use it as exercise; I don’t do it for anything else. Boxing for me is [great because] it takes so much of your concentration. You need a lot of focus. If I go running, for example, I will be thinking about everything: what I’m gonna do, what’s the next thing, I think about everything. When I do boxing, it brings me to a zen place, because you have to focus and you can not think about anything else. And I love that.

What about your diet and eating habits, especially in the month coming up. Do you have cheat days?

Of course I do have my cheat days.

But do you try to keep on track, especially knowing you’re going to be in front of millions of people very soon?

Honestly, it’s different now because I’m not young anymore. I’m 33, so you need to watch what you eat. I want to live very long, so I definitely believe that you are what you eat and the only way for you to have a long healthy life is really to take care of your food habits. That’s where everything starts. Also I have two kids at home, I want to be a good example for them. I really try to eat as healthy as I possibly can. Vegetables, protein, knowing how to balance the right amount of carbs—that’s for me not my kids. Because my metabolism is slowing down right now, I have to be careful now.

What about after you finish working out, do you have a snack that you eat?

After I work out I always have a protein shake. I make it with a banana and you can use almond milk, water, or whatever you like. Every day it’s important [to drink this] after you work out, especially if you do muscle-building work.

What about after the show? Do you have a ritual, like a post-show meal?

Usually I have my mom with me at the show and some friends, so after the show we all go and have a dinner together. This year I think my whole family is gonna come to London, so we’re probably gonna go to Nobu and have dinner since my mom loves sushi.

Are you excited to go to London? Is it going change your preparation at all because it’s going to be in a new place?

A little bit, but I will work out there. I’m not sure how many days in advance we’re going to arrive there prior to the show. I will have my jump rope with me; it’s something easy I can do. And I can do some exercises in the room; I don’t need a full gym. That’s something about boxing: You can just do some shadow boxing and that’s it, you don’t need a fully equipped gym to do it.

And it’s true! You actually don’t need to own a lot of fancy gym equipment or pay for boutique workout classes to train like an Angel—just some gloves and maybe a jump rope. Check out Adriana’s killer skills in the ring here:

Luckily for Naomi, she's been able to share the experience with her 'fashion family' - a starry host of models, designers and photographers, who have helped nurture her along the way. 

'I definitely spent more time around them than around my own blood family as I was traveling and working so much… Azzedine [Alaïa] is more like a papa; Gianni [Versace] was more like a brother,' she said.

As one of the 90’s supers, which also included Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington, Campbell’s life has rocked and rolled between extremes but she is, above all, a survivor.

'I don’t have to justify myself to anyone. I took off almost five years from work,' she said. 'But I’m a Gemini and I like to keep moving and doing things and being there for friends. If I go against my instincts, there is always a consequence.'

And one special man has helped her along the way - and now she wants to help others. '[Nelson] Mandela always said to me: "Use yourself to help other people." 

'I feel that now more strongly than ever before and I try to do that in the best way I can,' she said. 

She is certainly doing just that - she's raised millions for causes including Hurricane Katrina and the Haiti earthquake. 

In response to the current Ebola threat, she has launched the CrushEbolaNow campaign with other celebrities, which aims to educate and raise funds to help fight the spread of the deadly virus.

Myla Dalbesio on Her New Calvin Klein Campaign and the Rise of the 'In-Between' Model


Myla Dalbesio explodes with laughter on the other end of the phone. “It’s crazy!” she exclaims. “I can’t even.”

The 27-year-old model is talking about booking her latest gig, modeling Calvin Klein underwear in the brand’s latest "Perfectly Fit" campaign, which was shot by Lachlan Bailey. “It was such a surreal moment. I cried,” she admitted.

Booking an underwear campaign for such an iconic brand would be a coup for any model. But it’s especially notable for Dalbesio, who, at a size 10, is what the fashion industry would—still, surprisingly—call “plus size.” (“In fact, not so long ago plus size models were around size 10-12, but that number has recently shrunk to an 8,” said Cosmopolitan earlier this year, while PLUS Model concurs that models “between size 6 and size 14” are typically considered plus size.)

“It’s kind of confusing because I’m a bigger girl,” Dalbesio says. “I’m not the biggest girl on the market but I’m definitely bigger than all the girls [Calvin Klein] has ever worked with, so that is really intimidating.” (We have reached out to Calvin Klein to confirm.) She wasn’t sure, she said of the shoot, what was expected from her “in terms of her size or shape.” Refreshingly, what was expected of her was the same thing that was expected of the other models featured in the campaign (Lara Stone, Jourdan Dunn, Ji Hye Park): to take a beautiful picture. “No one even batted an eye,” she says. “It was very cool.”


So what does it mean for a brand like Calvin Klein—known for launching the careers of such svelte models as Brooke Shields and Kate Moss—to cast a model who deviates from the size 0 standard and not make a fuss about it?

To Dalbesio, who spent years abusing Adderall, crash dieting, and flirting with bulimia in an attempt to whittle herself to “straight size,” it represents progress. “It’s not like [Calvin Klein] released this campaign and were like ‘Whoa, look, there’s this plus size girl in our campaign.’ They released me in this campaign with everyone else; there’s no distinction. It’s not a separate section for plus size girls,” she says.

There was a time in the industry, not too long ago, when it seemed that the high fashion world was using plus size models as a headline-grabbing gimmick (see: the groundbreaking Italian Vogue cover featuring Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, and Robyn Lawley in June 2011; Crystal Renn in a 2010 Chanel campaign.)

“I feel like for a minute, it was starting to feel like this ‘plus size’ thing really was a trend, and that it was over,” Dalbesio says. “There was that beautiful Italian Voguestory, and the girls that were in that ended up doing really well [in their modeling careers]. But when that happened, we felt really excited; we thought it was going to open so many doors for all of us, you know? And it felt like it hadn’t. It was dying out.”

Now, Dalbesio is a bit more hopeful about size in the modeling industry. “I’m in the middle,” she says. “I’m not skinny enough to be with the skinny girls and I’m not large enough to be with the large girls and I haven’t been able to find my place. This [campaign] was such a great feeling.” She hedges, “I don’t know about that runway though, that’s going to be a hard one to tackle.”

I love that after working in the fashion industry for nine years, I have finally found my place, right in the middle. Neither plus, nor straight size, I love that I can be recognized for what I am, a healthy size 10.

I love that as the conversation on the internet explodes and brings greater awareness, I am receiving emails from 15 year-old girls, telling me that I have given them hope and that sharing my story has made them feel less freakish, less weird, and that they can accept their size 8 or 10 frame.

I love that I get to be a part of this conversation, about size and body image and that I get to represent a brand like Calvin Klein. They didn't introduce this campaign for shock value, they simply included what some would refer to as a "normal size" girl in their advertising, right next to other girls of varying sizes and shapes.

I love that by opening this discussion, I can also (hopefully) open some doors for other models, friends of mine, that have always straddled the line between straight size and plus. True body diversity doesn't mean only sizes 0's and 2's then jumping to size 16 and up. There is a middle ground.

6 Tips for Throwing a Flawless Dinner Party, Courtesy of Valentino


What do you wear to tea with Mr. Valentino? This was a question I and several other digital editors had to take into serious consideration when we stopped by the penthouse apartment of Giancarlo Giammetti, Mr. Valentino's longtime business partner, to be entertained and learn about the art of entertaining from the legendary designer. See, in addition to knowing how to design one hell of a gown, Valentino also throws one hell of a dinner party. (Remember that luncheon he gave Kim Kardashian and Kanye the day before their wedding?) In his new book, Valentino: At the Emperor’s Table, a gorgeous collection of photographs of Mr. Valentino's personal parties and tabletops throughout the years, he reveals his favorite recipes and entertaining tips.

Over tea and madeleines, Mr. Valentino and André Leon Talley waxed nostalgic about grand fêtes of years past (from Capri to Gstaad to Rome) and the fabulous company (Jackie O., Elizabeth Taylor, Kim Kardashian), as well as offered up some sound advice on l’arte de vivre.

"I love color. And this comes from my fashion designer career. For instance, if you ask me which kind of tablecloth I want to put in a table, I never like so much the white tablecloth. I love the colored ones, because china is very beautiful on top of pale yellow, dusty pink, pale blue and jade green color."

"At my right, I always put the oldest person, if she’s a lady. Or the oldest friend."

"The American couple…they always want to be together. That is not nice. You have to make conversation."

"I send always flowers to thank my hosts. But I prefer when people come with nothing, because I never know where to put it. Not because I am a snob, but because sometimes maybe they buy something that doesn’t go."

Aritzia Enlists Petra Collins to Help Make It in America


At first glance, 23-year-old fashion and art photographer Petra Collins seems like an unusual choice to be one of the many faces of Aritzia’s Full of Heart holiday marketing and social campaign, which launches mid-November—Collins was kicked off Instagram last fall for posting a picture of her not-hairless bikini line and has created a vivid menstruation T-shirt for American Apparel—but chief marketing officer Oliver Walsh calls it a “social experiment.” “When we think about the Aritzia customer, she is stylish and connected,” says Walsh. “As a brand, we want to be connected to talent [who] our girl is associated with.”

Collins certainly fits that mold. Since rejoining Instagram last October, she has accumulated 83,402 followers (Aritzia, for its part, has 188,608). It helps that Collins also has a compelling Aritzia story: “It was actually my first job when I was 14 or 15,” says the Toronto native. “I think I was hired for my personal style, something that the brand is all about.”

In case you haven’t heard of Aritzia, it was started in Vancouver 30 years ago and brought to the U.S. in 2007. What started as a third-party boutique catering to trend-loving, fashion-forward women ages 15 to 45 now carries 13 exclusive in-house brands, as well as nonexclusive fashion favorites like Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, and Frame Denim. But interest in the company is still tepid among the fashion set in the States. The logo and stores don’t fit in with the minimal, architectural retail design that is now native to shopping destinations like New York’s Soho.


However, that hasn’t deterred Aritzia from growing aggressively there. The Soho store located on lower Broadway is 10,000 square feet; the Fifth Avenue Rockefeller Center space is 13,000 square feet; and come July 2015, there will be an equally massive Flatiron boutique. Aritzia’s rapid growth in New York is part of what some call millennial marketing—using social media, an easy mobile experience, and an online magazine to reach young, digitally savvy influencers.

Certainly other retailers like Urban Outfitters and J.Crew have been doing this kind of social-meets-magazine-meets-online approach for a while, but Aritzia’s secret weapon is Collins, whose cult following online is exactly the kind of thing that gets a brand into the hearts and wallets of the cool kids. “We don’t consider ourselves fast fashion, so we aren’t looking for a quick hit in sales because of a one-off celeb or collaboration,” says Walsh. In that case, Collins’ loyalty matters. “When I heard they were coming to New York, I thought I should start shopping there again,” she says. “I can buy something super-inexpensive or invest in one of their cool parkas that I buy every season.” Right now, though, she is in love with a pair of high-waisted bell-bottom workwear pants: “I can wear them around the house, but I also look super-professional in them. It’s the kind of thing that I want people to know is Aritzia.”

Taylor Swift Style: From country princess to red carpet mainstay


With her much-anticipated album 1989 dropping in less than a month, there’s no question Taylor Swift has captured the buzz, yet again. At only 24 years old, the country-turned-pop star’s resume is already populated with plenty of music accolades as well as a perfume line, an education centre and most recently the key advisor spot on The Voice. Her relatable, super-catchy song lyrics plus her loveable personality (this Tumblr is proof) may make us believe she’s just like us, but we know for a fact she is anything but your regular girl when it comes to her wardrobe.


Back in the day, déjà vu hit us every time the country singer stepped out on the red carpet, showing us every form of sparkly dress known to man. But gone are the days of wearing custom-made prom queen dresses and cowboy boots. These days, T-Swift is all about topping best-dressed lists with her sexy yet elegant red carpet looks.

The singer-songwriter has definitely come a long way since her red carpet debut (cue this vampy CMAs outfit circa 2006) with Zuhair Murad, J. Mendel, Reem Acra being her go-to designers nowadays. While Swift does no wrong when it comes to her tried-and-trued glittery dresses or form fitting outfits, Old Hollywood glamour suits her to a T. Such was the case at the 2014 Met Gala, when she arrived pretty in pink in Oscar de la Renta. Her red and pink Monique Lhuillier gown at The Giverpremiere was pretty unforgettable too.

But the singer is no stranger to throwing a fastball every so often. Crop top ensembles and thigh-high slits may have been head-turners once upon a time, but the starlet really got the Internet talking when she walked the 2014 VMAs red carpet in nothing but a Mary Katrantzou body suit and Elie Saab booties. Talk about shaking things offup.

Taylor Swift hits News York with a killer wardprobe to promote 1989


While her new album is titled 1989, we think 2014 is the year of Taylor Swift. With a (not surprising) transition into the pop genre, the befriending of Karlie Kloss and Lena Dunham, a big move to New York City, and her recent declaration of “leaving love alone for now,” we think Taylor 2.0 is pretty friggin’ awesome. Not to mention she also killed it as our November cover girl. As her new album is set to sell over a million copies in the early days of its release the pop star made a series of appearances which we covered so you can indulge in a little Taylor Swift mania as well.


As her most recent sartorial obsession involves a serious rotation of crop tops and high-waist ensembles, the singer did not disappoint this week as she donned a number of variations on the look. Performing at CBC Radio’s We Can Survive event, the singer opted for white shorts and an embellished top, pairing the look with her signature red lip. Slightly changing it up in lieu of colder weather, the singer performed for Good Morning America yesterday wearing a navy long-sleeve diamond patterned body suit and nautical-inspired high-waist shorts. Both from the Sass & Bide fall 2014 collection, Taylor finished off the look with a pair of sweet gold heels.

Earlier in the week at the SiriusXM airing of 1989, Taylor went for a more eccentric vibe with an optical Marco de Vincenzo rib-knit sweater and rainbow metallic pleated skirt. With the look being very futuristic and out there, the singer opted for neutral barely-there makeup and completed the look with a pair of black mary jane pumps by Jerome C. Rousseau. One of our favourite looks spotted this week was the sequin embellished Antonio Berardi mini dress that she paired with simple blackGiuseppe Zannoti pumps. Once again, the singer kept her makeup neutral and her hair in an easy blow-out, letting the sporty-chic dress take center stage.

The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Waist Training Like Kim Kardashian

A few months ago, Kim Kardashian posted an Instagram of herself in the gym wearing a corset by shapewear brand Ann Chery. After I got past the white leggings, I had to know more: What was that corset for? A quick Google search and deep dive into the #waisttraining hashtag gave me my answer: Kim was using this device to attempt to cut down the midsection of her already infamous body-oddy-oddy.

That device is also known as a faja, or a girdle, popular in South America. Ann Chery is known for them. A few years ago, The New York Times reported on the trend of women wearing fajas as a "shortcut to an hourglass figure," and Jessica Alba credits wearing corsets with helping her shed baby weight. So, this isn't exactly new. Still! I had to try this. Having the most physical Kim-milarites of all the ELLE.com staffers (coupled with a psychotic Kim obsession), I was the obvious choice for being the waist-training guinea pig. Okay, fine. I forced everyone to let me. Whatever. Before I knew it, I was on the phone with team HourglassAngel.com, who reps Ann Chery, and my slimmer waist was en route from a sexy warehouse in Los Angeles. And just like Kim would, I will tell this story in selfies.

Before I start, though, I feel like I should be really clear about something: I am a terrible, horrible, very bad listener. Specifically when it comes to following instructions. When I get a new electronic item or tech thingy, the first thing I do is toss that pesky instruction booklet in the trash. Who needs it? I just turn it on and inevitably end up crying on the phone to some sad person in tech support two hours later. Similarly, when my corset arrived, I just put it on. I didn’t listen to the warnings from the HourglassAngel.com team that I needed to workout and make sure my core was strong while waist-training (how are you supposed to wear this thing to the gym?!), or that you should probably only do it for six weeks. I mean, Iheard them of course, but I get tunnel vision, and the only thing I saw was a skinnier me at the end of it so I just blindly strapped in.



Step 1: Pain and Discomfort.

Like a really smart cookie, I started my waist-training regimen on day one of New York Fashion Week. Fashion week for me means that I’ll really only be sitting down for shows and/or in the car riding to shows, and the rest of the time I’m on my feet running around like I’m Hermes or something—and I don’t mean like a fancy Birkin, I mean like a messenger boy with wings on his shoes. Plus, the start of this New York Fashion Week also marked our first unseasonable heat wave of the year. Joy! So on day one of my waist-training excursion, it was 90-plus degrees and I was basically running a marathon. Perfect, I thought because I wouldn’t want to do this halfway. I needed the full monty, and since I was going to ignore workout advice because I hate working out and ain’t nobody got time for that, I figured upping the intensity level could only be a great thing. Turns out, it almost killed me. Day one was excruciating. I couldn’t stop thinking about how uncomfortable I was, and though I said I was lazy, I am nothing if not determined, so I didn’t take it off until the full 12 hours later. When I did, it was sweet, sweet relief. I was finally able to breathe, my stomach fat rested comfortably against my waistband again, and all was right with the world…until the next day.

Step 2: Hiding the Waist-Trainer

I suppose I was more mentally ready for day two of waist training. I knew it was going to be grueling and terrible and make me cranky and mean, but I also knew that Kim was doing it, so, I had to dig deep and get it together. Surprisingly, when I put on the corset for day two, it already felt looser. I was relieved—and amazed. I even called the HourglassAngel.com team to check that I hadn’t stretched out my Ann Chery corset. They told me no, I hadn’t. It turns out, it was working. Miracles! With that boost of confidence I tackled day two, feeling really energized by my progress in 24 hours. There was just one problem: the very high potential for wardrobe malfunction. You could see the corset under a lot of my clothes. Turns out, I own a lot of sheer items and crop tops. This presented a particular challenge getting dressed every day, which was magnified by the pressures of fashion week. If you look closely on style.com you can see me strolling along West 15th Street in a great look with just a peek of the corset showing. Um, mortifying. Now the world knows I’m wearing a girdle.

Step 3: Agitation/Acceptance

About 10 days in of waist training, I start to notice something: Waist training gives me a bad attitude. It makes me irrationally mean. I am irritable, cranky, and short-tempered. I am sending rude e-mails. I am blank-staring at jokes, when I could just give a polite giggle. I am walking away in the middle of conversations when I’ve just had enough. It’s the corset—I realize that it’s controlling me. The other thing is, I’m hungry. Actually, I’m HANGRY. The corset is so tight and constricting that I find myself skipping meals. The bladder issues are out of control. I have to pee every 10 seconds. Still, I persevere. Why? Because I am obsessive and crazy and I want a waist like Kim’s. So I accept it. I ignore it. I tweet that I am waist training and hope that the 3,500 people that may or may not read that will process this information, pass it on (aka RT), and forgive my transgressions for the next few weeks. It’s something that I can’t control—like when Frodo is carrying that heavy ring to Mordor. It must be done after all, but you know, it’s slowly turning me into Gollum.

Step 4: Addiction

Midway through week three, I realize that I am a corset addict. I already see pleasant results (I think I can see a waist!!!) and I am eager to see just how far I can push this. I still haven’t worked out one bit. I haven’t changed my diet at all, save for the few meals here and there that have been eliminated due to the fact that I can’t fit a full meal into the corset. I call team HourglassAngel.com for a check-in. They ask me how it’s going, and I give them an enthusiastic “Great!” I tell them I need a smaller sized corset for when I graduate from my first one. They tell me again to make sure I work out. I totally ignore them because I only hear what I want, and what I want to hear is that they are sending me a smaller corset.

I have a very high tolerance for pain (ballet training was good for something), and I know that sometimes, pretty hurts. Right, Beyoncé? So I got really good at ignoring my discomfort while wearing the waist-trainer and I promise you, it was very uncomfortable. But I slowly began to relish in the feeling. I kind of loved it. I still felt sweet relief when I removed the corset after 12 hours of wear, but about 10 minutes after that, I wanted it back on. It was helping my posture. I suddenly loved my side profile. I was seeing a thinner waist emerge and I wanted it all the time. If I could have the corset surgically adhered to my body, I totally would. (I Googled it. You can't.)

Step 5: Recovery

By the end of week four, I was a still a semi-hungry, bitchy mess, but I lookedgood. I still hadn’t so much as touched a workout and there was some healthy space in between the waistband of my pants and my actual waist. So #blessed, right? But I knew that I would need to stop. It was following me around like a dark cloud. Though it was making me thin it was also making me miserable and kind of itchy. On a particularly hungover morning, I decided that I simply couldn’t corset-up and would have to do without it. This was the beginning of my waist-training recovery. I was so distracted by my tequila-induced headache, that I barely even missed my waist-trainer. And not wearing it the day after and the day after that became easier.

But like any good addiction, it managed to sneak its way back into my brain. Afraid that I was undoing all of my progress, I went back to the grind (the squeeze?) after three days going corset-less. Only now I had a new problem: I was literally made of mush. My whole belly was a mushy mess. Slim, yes, but flabby. Why? Because I didn't listen and I didn't work out.




Step 6: Repair and Recovery

A frantic call to team HourglassAngel.com had me in a tailspin. “I’m atrophying guys! My muscles—I have none of them.” Oh, this is bad, bad, bad, I thought. I can’t have a small waist and not even be able to lift my feet when I am getting a pedicure. You don’t realize how many ab muscles that requires until you havenone. Team HourglassAngel.com was pretty calm about the whole thing, but they did tell me, again, to workout. To fix my problem, I (finally) went to see trainer Matt Griffin at DavidBartonGym. Griffin is a former dancer and part-time costume designer, so he knows a thing or two about cores and corsets. 15 seconds into my first exercise with Griffin, it was painfully clear that I had no ab muscles. Like, zero. When he ordered me to do gyrokinetic planks, I could barely crank out three without needing a break. He told me that it was way more important to build up your core strength before you started waist training because otherwise, you would just rely on the corset for those muscles and not actually 
use them. Sounds about right..



Griffin recommended planks with accompanying side twists, crunches with weights, and a fancy set of leg lifts to would get my core into shape. He advised only doing these exercises about three times a week so your body doesn’t get too used to them and then wearing the corset for your whole life. “It shouldn’t be a crutch though. You should build up those muscles already and eventually you won’t even need it.” Under Griffin’s watchful eye, I completed the exercises and have postponed putting on my corset until I can flex my stomach and actually feel something besides soft Silly Putty.

Step 7: Relapse

What can I say? I am an addict. This morning, after about three weeks of no corset, I strapped myself back in and I’m sure you’re wondering how it feels. Well, it feels delightful. I was happy to return back to corset home and to discover that all was not lost. I know trainer Matt will say that I’m not ready, but I did my exercises three times last week, which is literally a 300 percent increase in any previous exercise for the entire time that I had been wearing the corset before. So, despite weeks of moderate pain and discomfort, my clothes fit better, my waist looks slimmer, and my posture is top notch. Conclusion? I am officially a corset convert. Thanks Kimmy! As for whether I'll listen next time? Still to be determined.

JOE FRESH SPRING 2015: See the complete lookbook

Joe Mimran may not have shown his namesake collection at this season’s Toronto Fashion Week, but thanks to Monday night’s epic opening party (Solange was there!) and the most recent soft launch of the Joe Fresh Spring 2015 lookbook, we got our Joe Fresh fix.


With New York, London, Milan and Paris already giving us a taste of Spring 2015 trends last month, we were not surprise to see some of the hottest trends making its way in the Joe Fresh’s latest collection. Amongst the label’s basics and neutrals, floral was the print of choice, and with Mimran’s subdued and romantic designs of the print, we know ladies of all ages will be making a beeline for the various pieces. The many athletic selections (baseball-inspired tees, track pant-like trousers and jersey dresses–to name a few) also proved that the sporty trend is here to stay comes spring. And as a Canadian-bred collection, you can bet the nation’s eponymous tuxedo would be in the mix. We’re talking chambray shirt paired with a denim pencil skirt, naturally.



Layering up and prepping to hibernate for the polar vortex may be on our minds, but we’ll be flipping through the Joe Fresh Spring 2015 lookbook in the meantime, so we’re ready to hit the stores when the warmer months rolls back around. If there was ever a reason to want to skip over winter, this is it.
